Latest news for Salina Lodge #60

At the Tri Rivers Fair and Rodeo this year Salina Lodge took on the Grand Lodge's CHIP (Child Identification Program).  I am happy to report that Salina Lodge #60 provided 46 volunteers who worked 220 hours serving 312 children with the Identification program.  That was a great accomplishment and our booth was one of the most visited booth at the fair.  At times we had a few parents and kids waiting but everyone was well mannered and patient.  All in all it went great!

A lot of Masonic information was handed out to inquisitive parents and fair goers and I would be disappointed if we didn't receive a few petitions from our efforts.

Worshipful Master Paul (Buzz) Livengood would like to thank everyone for their dedication and help for making this a successful venture, and we will work for many more.  There are a few other plans in the works to have the CHIP computers set up at other community events, so I'm sure we will be calling again.

Once again, THANKS!  This would not have been the success it was without you.

The annual Eastern Star and Lodge #60 picnic was held on July 22nd, 2007 in Jerry Ivey park.  The decision to move the picnic from Oakdale park to Jerry Ivey was because in 1999 W:.B:. Robert Blomquist planted a tree there in honor of M:.W:. George Washington Grand Master and first president of the United States.  It was decided as we annually have the picnic there we would make a report on the tree.

I am happy to make the following report;

July 22nd 2007 A.D., 6007 A.L. Salina Lodge #60 along with Harmony Chapter #2 O.E.S. at their annual picnic in Jerry Ivy park report the following measurements of the George Washington tree planted by W:. B:. Robert Blomquist in 1999.

  Trunk circumference 1' above the ground = 3.55"

Trunk circumference 4' above ground = 2.75"

Tree height = 11'

Tree Drip Line = 8' diameter

The tree appears to be very healthy, good leaves and a full appearance.  No visible damage or insect infestation was detected, the dedication marker is still in good shape and in it's proper place at the base of the tree.

Here are a couple of other documents that should be of interest to all Americans.  Declaration of independence, United States Constitution.
